I'm a newbie too ......

6 New Home To-Dos

You’ve found a dream home in your dream neighborhood. Congrats! Now the real work begins: Start ticking these things off your list.

1. Check Your Insurance Policies
Moving to a new state? Chances are you’ll have to get new insurance policies. You might even need to find a new company since not all insurers blanket the entire country.

2. Sign Up for the Town Newspaper
It’ll help you get to know the area quickly. Also, consider subscribing to the regional magazine—all of those dining guides are invaluable.

3. Get Copies of Your Medical Records
Even if you’re young and perfectly healthy, you’re still going to need your records at some point. Avoid the hassle by getting them before you move out of the area—you’re going to need to change doctors when you move, so you’ll want your new doc to have all of the information that they’ll need.

4. Hook Yourself Up
Call your current water, electric, cable, Internet, and phone companies and soon-to-be companies a month before your move date. This way, you have enough time to schedule appointments required for shut off and turn on. This will prevent you from getting charged after you leave your old home or for any service that’s not on in your new one. Ask for written confirmations in case you have to appeal a charge.

5. Cancel Catalogues
Get your name off junk mail lists by going to CatalogChoice.org. You’ll have enough stuff to sort through...why add more to that massive pile?

6. Go Postal
Change your address six weeks before your move at the post office or at Usps.com. This will get your mail to the right place, and they’ll send you a welcome package with coupons and discounts for local stores and services.

The past is gone and static

"We are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book whose pages are infinite---"

I do not know who wrote those words, but I have always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want to make it hong kong tourism. We can take the mysterious, hazy future and carve out of it anything that we can imagine, just like a sculptor carves a statue from a shapeless stone.

We are all in the position of the farmer. If we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest. If our seed is poor and full of weeds, we reap a useless crop. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

I want the future to be better than the past. I don't want it contaminated by the mistakes and errors with which history is filled. We should all be concerned about the future because that is where we will spend the reminder of our lives ismoka istick.

Nothing we can do will change it. The future is before us and dynamic. Everything we do will effect it. Each day will brings with it new frontiers, in our homes and in our businesses, if we will only recognize them. We are just at the beginning of the progress in every field of human endeavor Veda Salon.

Become a quitter

I'm one of those people who's terrible at saying no. I take on too many projects at once, and spend too much of my time doing things I'd rather not be. I get stuff done, but it's not always the best I can do, or the best way I can spend my time.

That's why my newest goal, both as a professional and a person, is to be a quitter.

Being a quitter isn't being someone who gives up, who doesn't see important things through to the end. I aspire to be the opposite of those things, and think we all should. The quitter I want to be is someone who gets out when there's no value to be added, or when that value comes at the expense of something more important.

I want to quit doing things that I'm asked to do, for no other reason than I'm asked to do it. I want to be able to quit something in mid-stream, because I realize there’s nothing good coming from it.

A friend of mine once told me that "I knew I was an adult when I could stop reading a book, even after getting 500 pages into it." Odd though it sounds, we all tend to do this. We get involved in something, realize we don't want to be a part of it, but keep trucking through. We say "well, I've already invested so much time in this, I might as well stick it out."

I propose the opposite: quit as often as possible, regardless of project status or time invested. If you're reading a book, and don't like it, stop reading. Cut your losses, realize that the smartest thing to do is stop before your losses grow even more, and quit. If you're working on a project at work that isn't going anywhere, but you've already invested tons of time on it, quit. Take the time gained by quitting the pointless project, and put it toward something of value. Instead of reading an entire book you hate, read 1/2 a bad one and 1/2 a good one. Isn't that a better use of your time?

If you're stuck doing something, and don't really want to do it anymore, step back for a second. Ask if you really have to do this, and what value is being produced from your doing it. Don't think about the time you've put into it, or how much it's taken over your life. If you don't want to do it, and don't have to do it, don't do it.

By quitting these things, you'll free up time to do things that actually do create value, for yourself and for others. You'll have time to read all the great books out there, or at least a couple more. You’ll be able to begin to put your time and effort into the things you'd actually like to do.

Let's try it together: what are the things you're doing, that you're only doing because you've been doing them for so long? Quit. Don't let time spent dictate time you will spend. Let's learn how to say "no" at the beginning, or in the middle, and free up more of our time to do the things we’d like to be doing, and the things actually worth doing.

Saying no is hard, and admitting a mistaken yes is even harder. But if we do both, we'll start to make sure that we're spending our time creating value, rather than aggravating our losses. Let's be quitters together.

What do you think? What in your life can you quit?

Love is a two-way street

A father sat at his desk poring over his monthly bills when his young son rushed in and announced,

“Dad, because this is your birthday and you’re 55 years old, I’m going to give you 55 kisses, one for each year!” When the boy started making good on his word, the father exclaimed, “Oh, Andrew, don’t do Dream beauty pro it now; I’m too busy!”

The youngster immediately fell silent as tears welled up in his big blue eyes. Apologically the father said, “You can finish later.”

The boy said nothing but quietly walked away, disappointment written over his face. That evening the father said, “Come and finish the kisses now, Andrew!” But the boy didn’t respond.

Unfortunately, a few days later after this Dream beauty proincident, the boy had an accident and was drowned. His heartbroken father wrote...

“If only I could tell him how much I regret my thoughtless words, and could be assured that he knows how much my heart is aching.”

…Love is a two-way street. Any loving act must be warmly accepted or it will be taken as rejection and can leave a scar. If we are too busy to give and receive love, we are too busy! Nothing is more important than responding with love to the cry for love from those who are near and precious to us. Because... there may Dream beauty pro be no chance at all as in the case of the little boy...

The taste of winter

If the spring, summer, and the quiet beauty of autumn to flawless, it is to let a person happy and willing to give praise, so in winter, it is just a silly and stop, and so I settled season.

I often take a dim romantic heart, meet the following spring, light clothing thin Lvdi step in March, Liu Fu Hua in dynamic, appreciate it moist and fresh, it's beautiful and prosperous. Apricot, peach, and YuLan, a gust of wind can rub off half tree beauty light snow pear, all is the United States that the name, but I never took it, twelve points talent to describe, I'm afraid can not say them three points better appearance, not to mention the elyze words, and I was not out but necessary some delicate and slick. It a wanton indulgence of spring, I have no equivalent phrase, rather it's the bustle, has not suitable for high flow scene I. In order to bloom, and finally in order to clear and tricks, superficial, popular, and I have no good or wrong, blindly matched.

As usual, I should say the summer, just remove the only this season to the blooming lotus, it is a lovely place, there is no much, can talk to punctuate, but always seems to Liu Yin Street, Huai Xiang, and fawn colored on the woman, but the sticky elyze sweat and noisy in the ear cicadas instantly put these lovely even. Suffer from long and endless day, tired, it seems that in addition to the heartless, Huntouhunnao sleep boring, just enough to go out of the window the sun glare and Bi Wu Yang, be in the blues was drying down. However, heavy elyze heavy gong drum thunder, shake the tree shook the branches of the storm, mad in driving rain, it is also at this time will show more publicity, this moment, even reaching heaven and earth as if with emotion, so clearly engraved in the world warm, in the summer, but the other seasons never had.
1 cup(s) (2 sticks) butter dr max(no substitutions), softened
1/2 cup(s) sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
3 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
Ornamental Frosting (optional)
Coarse sugar crystals, silver dragées, dr max holiday decors (optional decorations)
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, with mixer on low speed, beat butter and sugar until blended. Increase speed to high; beat until light and creamy. On low speed, beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in flour, baking powder, and salt dr max until blended.
Divide dough into 4 equal pieces; flatten each piece into a disk. Wrap each disk with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour or until dough is firm enough to roll. (Or place dough in freezer 30 minutes.)
On lightly floured surface, with floured rolling pin, roll 1 piece of dough 1/8 inch thick. With floured 3-inch to 4-inch cookie cutters, cut dough into as many cookies as possible; wrap and refrigerate trimmings. Place cookies, 1 inch apart, on ungreased large cookie sheet.
Bake cookies 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. Repeat with remaining dough and trimmings.
When cookies are cool, prepare Ornamental Frosting, if you like; use along with sugars and candies to decorate cookies. Set cookies aside to allow frosting to dry completely, about 1 hour. Store in tightly covered container (with waxed paper between layers if decorated) at room temperature up to 2 weeks, or in freezer up to 3 months.
